Open Cell Spray Foam Insulation 

Open Cell spray foam is a soft, flexible foam that expands roughly 120 times it liquid volume when sprayed in place. It is typically sprayed 3.5 inches thick, usually expanding out past a standard 2x4 stud wall and shaven down to allow for drywall. In attics and roof lines it is typically sprayed 5-6 inches thick and left un-shaved.

Limitations of Open Cell Spray Foam:
 

• No significant structural properties or compressive strength

• Not a vapor retarder (Not recommended for High Moisture areas such as crawlspaces)

• Lower R-Value per inch than Closed Cell Spray Foam (Has to be sprayed in thicker
